Early Fall News and Tips
As Fall approaches all of us at Grass Master are getting ready for the cooler temperatures that will soon be arriving. Here are just a few tips to help keep your lawn looking vibrant this fall season.
- Set mowing height at 3" and gradually move mowing height down to 2" towards late
October.
- Keep blades sharp; dull mower blades fray turf resulting in a brownish cast.
- This is the time of year when grubs can become a problem. If you suspect a problem
please call as soon as possible so that corrective measures can be taken before
serious turf damage occurs.
- Any damaged areas should be seeded at this time. Fall is the best time to establish
new grass.
- Mulch beds should be mulched to a depth of 2" 3".
As the cooler temperatures approach it can affect your trees and shrubs. Foliage that has a yellow - greenish cast may be suffering from Iron Chlorosis. If your plants haven't been fertilized we recommend a deep root feeding in November. If you would like to schedule any of our Fall treatments including Fall Aeration, Grub Control, Deep Root Feeding, Rd. 5 which includes fertilizer and weed control or a Fall Clean- Up you can call us at 1-888-GREENER.
